August 29, 2003—The Boiler Efficiency Institute (BEI) has updated their practical, cost-reducing workshops on boiler and HVAC plant operation improvement in order to address the economic turndown forcing a renewed emphasis on efficiency. According to BEI, many plant managers are unfortunately not exploring energy savings opportunities because of the perception that up-front costs are too high.
The BEI courses will show the participants how to recognize operation and maintenance changes that require little up-front cost, but save much money in operation costs. The latest in the refrigerant situation has also been included in the HVAC course. The instructional team has no vested interest in any product; all information will be presented from an objective viewpoint based on the experience and expertise of the lecturers.
BEI can present workshops in the following areas: Boiler Fundamentals, HVAC Special Courses, and Electrical Hands on, or any combination of the three. Course locations are flexible and may be taught in-house. Formats can be from four hours to two weeks.
BEI has held workshops for major industry, government agencies, and public utilities across North America and throughout the world. Their corporate clients include: US Department of Energy, Chrysler Corporation, US Air Force, US Army, US Navy, Honeywell, Allied Signals, Lockheed, Phillip Morris, and R.R. Donneley.
