June 9, 2003—Bentley Systems Inc. recently completed the acquisition of Quantum Leap Consultancy—combining Quantum’s retail design configuration systems for real estate and property professionals with Bentley’s building information modeling (BIM) solution. Using this system, retailers, and their suppliers spend less time on store design and configuration, cutting design time, the company says, by as much as 85 percent.
The application automatically generates a bill of construction materials that can be linked to existing ERP systems to streamline purchasing. Bentley’s BIM solution encompasses twenty enabling BIM technologies, and is based on the proven and scalable MicroStation platform.
