December 10, 2007—Bentley Prince Street, a leading manufacturer of stylish floorcoverings for nearly three decades, has launched ViVA LA, a collection of three carpet patterns designed in collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Andre Miripolsky.
All three styles—Which Way Now, Feet on the Street and Linked to the Vibe—are available in broadloom. Which Way Now is also offered in 18″ X 18″ carpet tile.
“At Bentley Prince Street, we are very proud of our California heritage, and we are constantly seeking opportunities to celebrate our connection to the Los Angeles community with our new product introductions,” explained Anthony Minite president of Bentley Prince Street. When I came across Andres three-dimensional ‘ViVA LA’ wall sculpture of the Downtown LA skyline, his enthusiasm and passion for the Los Angeles community literally leapt from the wall. I knew we had to get him into our design studio right away.”
In developing the ViVA LA Collection, Mr. Miripolsky created three representational patterns that express the interconnectivity and movement between family, friends and neighbors in the Downtown LA community. Which Way Now features random arrows that represent the movement that happens on the carpet. The footprint pattern of Feet on the Street captures our footfalls on the carpet, and the swirled pattern in Linked to the Vibe is an expression of vibrations. All three patterns are offered in 15 common colorways with 50 percent or greater high recycled content nylon.
