US firm Bidcom and four UK professional services and construction companies are joint-venturing to launch Bidcom’s online collaboration service ProjectFirst in the UK. Bidcom is a US engineering, building and property e-business service provider. The four UK professional services and construction firms are KPMG Consulting, Wates Group, Carillion and EC Harris. According to the companies, the aim of the service is to save customers time and money as well as improving communication and accountability across a project portfolio.
ProjectFirst is billed by Bidcom as a solution targeting online collaboration and short-term project management for engineering, building, and real estate professionals. It addresses the need to extend core collaboration services to smaller, less complex projects, and will enable customers to eliminate delays, reduce costs, create accountability and improve results with a product that, points out Bidcom, can be deployed in minutes.
