BOMA Endorses EPA Energy Star Labels for Buildings

BOMA International’s Energy Committee and Board of Governors voted to officially endorse the EPA Energy Star Buildings Program. At the core of the Energy Star Label for Buildings, explains BOMA International, is an “Internet-based tool that catalogs all energy uses in a building, calculates an energy intensity, and benchmarks a building’s energy performance.” By using this tool, building owners and managers can compare a building’s energy performance to similar-use buildings or a group of buildings.
