August 15, 2001—The Building Owners and Managers Association International has released a new CD-ROM, “The Property Professional’s Guide to Building Energy Performance,” to assist commercial real-estate professionals in enacting short-term energy conservation and efficiency measures, as well as developing and implementing a long-term plan to enhance building energy performance.
The CD-ROM also provides helpful tips for reducing energy consumption in tenant spaces and checklists, as well as sample letters to respond to tenants during an immediate energy crisis or blackout situation.
The program is divided into two segments: The first, titled “Response to Immediate Energy Shortage,” provides several tools to reduce peak energy demands and coordinate emergency procedures in the event of an energy emergency or blackout, while the second, titled “Developing Your Long-Term Building Energy Strategy,” addresses long-term demand reduction.
The CD-ROM is available for $20 for BOMA members and $30 for non-members. For purchases or more information, contact BOMA International at 800/426-6292.
