BOMA publication addresses window cleaning safety standard

January 27, 2003—BOMA International has published a 40-page document designed to help bring window cleaners, regulatory agencies, architects and building owners to a common understanding regarding the ANSI/IWCA 1-14.1 Window Cleaning Safety Standard. Part A focuses on safety guidelines for the use of window cleaning access equipment while Part B is geared toward those who manufacture, design or install the equipment.

The standard also addresses specific equipment including rope-descended systems, transportable and permanent suspended scaffolds, ladders and man-lifts.
