August 18, 2008 The new 2008 BOMA Experience Exchange Report (EER) provides up-to-date benchmarking income and expense data for building operations. It can be used to evaluate operating expenses, develop operating strategies, compile budgets, underwrite and analyze acquisition opportunities, and communicate with investors and owners.
The EER book contains eight income and 12 expense line item categories; each further detailed into more than 65 subcategories. Charts for US and Canadian cities provide building breakdowns on private and government, downtown and suburban, and size range. National averages are given for a variety of building types include: Agency Managed, All Electric, Corporate Facilities, Financial Buildings, Medical Buildings and Single Purpose Buildings.
The EER has a quick reference User’s Guide that gives definitions for each component income and expense category used to construct the charts; explains how the average, median mid-range low and mid-range high figures are determined; shows you how to convert data for cities not included in the EER by using ACCRA’s Cost of Living Index; and how to complete the included sample Pro Forma Worksheet.
