BOMA rolls out third security audio seminar: HVAC security

May 8, 2002—The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International has developed a series of four audio seminars to cover critical aspects of preparedness and security planning. The seminars address topics such as security and emergency planning; liability and other legal issues, including risk assessment and insurance; heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) security; and premises security.

The third of the four audio seminars will be held May 17, 2002, with the final of the four part audio conference series scheduled for May 31, 2002. Each of the audio seminars will include a live question and answer session, a complimentary cassette tape, security checklists and other seminar materials.

“HVAC Security,” will be held on Friday, May 17, 2002, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. EDT and will present the latest information on securing HVAC units and upgrading systems to deal with new threats. The program will include information on determining the potential for release of toxic chemicals into an air handling system and will offer cost-effective measures that can be taken immediately to lessen the harmful effects of such an event.

Each seminar will be delivered via telephone to eliminate travel expenses and time away from the office. With speakerphone, multiple numbers of industry professionals can receive and obtain vital information on these critical topics while only having to pay for one “site” (one telephone connection).

Registration fees per seminar for BOMA members are $175 per site; fees for National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) members are $200 per site. The fee for non-members is $225 per site. For additional information or to register, call BOMA’s Education Hot Line at (202) 326-6331 or register online.
