May 30, 2007—Bentley Prince Street announced today that it has been selected as a member of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Environmental Performance Track. This partnership program recognizes and rewards private and public facilities that demonstrate strong environmental performance beyond current requirements and have implemented high-quality environmental management systems.
All Performance Track members are required to set three-year goals for continuous improvement in environmental performance beyond their legal requirements, have internal systems in place to manage their environmental impacts, engage in local outreach about their performance and publicly report results. As part of its membership in the Performance Track program, Bentley Prince Street has made a commitment for continued reductions in energy and water usage over the next three years.
Since the program’s inception in 2000, Performance Track membership has grown to 470 members in 46 states and Puerto Rico, and those members have made 1,500 commitments to benefit the environment in both regulated and unregulated areas.
To date, Performance Track members have collectively reduced their water use by 3.5 billion gallons, reduced their greenhouse gas emissions by 88,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent, and conserved nearly 14,000 acres of land while helping to protect their local and national environment.
