March 15, 2004—Brayton International is making GORE Seating Protection available on practically any upholstery textile, the protection particularly beneficial to fabrics for healthcare use. GORE offers breathable comfort with durable waterproof performance, says Brayton.
Among the other benefits of GORE protection are abrasion-resistance, durable, breathable moisture barrier, anti-microbial topical treatment. It adds that virtually all stains can be cleaned with a damp cloth and water. If needed, upholstery spot cleaner, solvent-based cleaner, or a fabric degreaser may be used for oil-based stains.
CAL 133 test results showed that GORE Seating Protection does not adversely impact the flammability test results of the sample. Emitted 23 times less carbon monoxide than a comparable textile with a polyurethane (PU) coating. Sample fabrics passed CAL 117 and met Class 1 requirements for NFPA 260 and UFC.
