Bridger and IL school honored for accommodating technology design

October 31, 2005—Bridger (technology consultants) and Bolingbrook High School, Romeoville, IL, were recently honored with an Impact on Learning Award for Accommodating Technology from School Planning and Management magazine and the Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI).

The design for the new high school included a wireless network and a direct network connection. A Master Antenna Television (MATV) system, including a video monitor and video distribution capabilities, was designed for the school. This system allows digital media to be stored on a central server, allowing for schoolwide distribution of media or local inputs within each classroom.

Dedicated labs allow for a new technology-based curriculum to replace traditional vocational education, and for students to experience first-hand how technology impacts certain industries. The Forum Room contains 60 seats with laptop connection capabilities. Two of the rooms are wired to facilitate distance learning.
