February 19, 2007—The Building Service Contractors’ Association of Australia NSW has launched a Building Maintenance Division, which officially debuted at a recent BSCAA NSW breakfast meeting. It has seven founding members and another six companies have signaled their intent to join.
BSCAA—Building Service Contractors Association of Australia—purports to represent all building service contractors, according to Mark Lodge, division chairman of Building Maintenance Division, and, he says, the time has come to expand the representation to encompass a broad base of non-conflicting contractors that offer deliverables to the building services industry.
Lodge points out that cooperatives and building associations do exist, but there is not one entity that can represent all building service contractors, particularly within the repairs and maintenance industry. “We are looking to drive the new building maintenance chapter and attract members by offering practical solutions and assistance to this wide ranging group of trades.”
