October 26, 2007—The California Film Commission recently launched the Green Resource Guide, a new Web-based resource to promote environmentally-conscious film production. The guide provides production companies with information and tools to reduce their environmental footprint, while saving them the time and expense of conducting their own environmental research.
From pre- to post-production, the Green Resource Guide supplies everything from handy tips on green office practices to useful contacts with green vendors. For example, the site has information on where to find sustainably harvested lumber for set production and lists of food banks that accept surplus meals for caterers.
The guide covers: green office practices, recycling on-set and in the office, recycling e-waste, green production, generators, green lumber and art products, and more. To view the Green Resource Guide, visit the CFC Web site.
