Cadence simplifies energy procurement for customers via Internet

Cadence has developed a new process to gather energy purchasing information faster than usual by streamlining the request for proposal (RFP) process. This capability helps Cadence get complete and comparable information for its customers when making purchasing decisions. By linking its systems to the Enermetrix.com Exchange, Cadence can now pool the energy requirements of its customers—even across several companies—in sizes that draw far better prices from suppliers than individual stores could get on their own. Cadence adds that the streamlined process reduces risks and transaction costs and can now be completed in record time. In the past, Cadence explains that suppliers in its customers’ markets had to be identified, RFPs had to be faxed out to suppliers and back, and it had to “plow through pages of data and contract language to get to the bottom line.” The upshot, says Cadence, is that the bidding process can be accomplished in minutes and hours instead of days.
