CADstoreOnline combines e-commerce with physical store in downtown Boston

October 12, 2001—CADstoreOnLine.com opened for e-Commerce September 15, 2001, to accompany “The World’s First AutoCAD Store,” which opened in Boston last November. Initially, the online store will feature Autodesk (manufacturer of AutoCAD) software products for purchase, lease, or rent for 30, 60, and 90 day periods. In the near future, the site will serve as a sales and service center showcasing Consulting For Architects’ (CFA) wide variety of CAD services including training, support, and workflow automation services.

The CADstoreOnLine.com site was built by Active Edge New Media of New Hampshire. “The synergy of an actual store where architects can physically test-drive or demo a product with a qualified CFA professional, combined with an online purchasing option and all the Web has to offer, is the future of e-Commerce,” says Don Schwartz, Marketing Director and Active Edge New Media partner. According to Schwartz, the store will be updated frequently. Visit the site now to see their special offers.

The physical CADstoreOnLine store is located in downtown Boston. Consulting For Architects opened the “CADstoreOnLine—The World’s First AutoCAD Store,” on November 21, 2000. The newly renovated space, designed by CFA, is located in the first floor of The Architects Building, which is the Boston Society of Architects (BSA) Headquarters, on the corner of Milk and Broad (52 Broad Street).

According to Thomas Gagliardi, CFA Sales Director CAD & Multimedia Services, “The new store serves as an industry showroom displaying the latest Autodesk CAD, design visualization, and Internet-enabled software products. Customers will be able to come in to experience and experiment with the software, receive demonstrations and consultation, and purchase software and services.”
