February 18, 2008—Canon Canada’s new Canon Green Calculators are built from materials salvaged from recycled Canon photocopiers — a first for Canon Canada, according to the company. These calculators fall within Canon’s EcoSense line of environmentally friendly products and offer a wide range of green features.
The five Green models—the LS-63TG, the LS-154TG, the HS-20TG, the HS-1000TG, and the TS-1200TG—come equipped with lightweight, portable bodies and key features such as large liquid crystal displays and solar power. Aside from performance, Canon Green Calculators come with a variety of smart, eco-friendly features.
For example, the paper packaging and instruction manuals included with the calculators are made from recycled paper. In terms of battery power, all Canon Green Calculators use lithium coin batteries that are mercury free and, therefore, less harmful to the environment than traditional batteries.
