Carbon Trust offers free tech guide to saving energy on display lighting

September 5, 2008—The UK’s Carbon Trust has launched a free Display Lighting Technology Guide (CTG010) offering advice and tips on energy-saving opportunities related to display lighting. The guide demonstrates how simple actions can reduce energy costs up to 30 percent without losing visual impact.

This publication focuses on the key sectors that use lighting specifically for display purposes. By implementing no-cost and low-cost energy-saving measures such as upgrading to energy-efficient light bulbs or making use of natural lighting, the Carbon Trust says companies can not only save money and reduce carbon emissions, but comply with relevant British legislation such as Part L of the building regulations.

The Carbon Trusts’s Publications library features a range of fact sheets and industry-specific guides, which offer a useful starting point for organizations concerned about energy efficiency, says the organization. The Carbon Trust also offers a free Advice Line at 0800 085 2005, which any organization can contact for expert advice on how to cut carbon emissions.
