CarrAmerica wins Toby Award for excellence in office management

February 9, 2005—CarrAmerica Realty Corporation has won two regional Office Building of the Year (TOBY) awards for 2004-2005. In Englewood, Colorado, Panorama Corporate Center received the award from the Denver Metro Chapter of Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). In San Diego, California, Towne Center Technology Park IV received the award from the Building Owners and Managers Association of San Diego.

Panorama Corporate Center earned the TOBY Award in the Low Rise Suburban Office Park competition. The campus project, when fully built, is expected to comprise nine buildings totaling 1.03 million square feet.

Towne Centre Technology Park IV earned top honors in the renovation competition. Carr CarrAmerica purchased the property in 1998 and converted the 1989 105,358-square-foot, three-story building from a research and development lab facility to a Class A office building.

The TOBY Award program was established in 1985 to honor those excelling in office building management. Judging includes scoring in the following categories: building standards, community impact, tenant-employee relations, energy management, systems and procedures, building accessibility, emergency evacuation procedures, training for building personnel and physical attributes.
