December 17, 2008—The Council of Educational Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and San Diego State University (SDSU) are currently accepting applications for the Online Advanced Certificate Program in Educational Facility Planning. Twenty-five students will be accepted into this graduate level program; courses begin August 2009.
According to CEFPI, the two organizations have uniquely collaborated to develop and deliver a course of study that seeks to build healthy, safe, high-performance and sustainable learning environments that enhance student and teacher performance and support culture and community vitality.

Currently, certificate program students represent 25 states, Canada, Australia, and Peru.
