CertainTeed introduces ProRoc moisture and mold resistant gypsum board

April 2, 2008—CertainTeed Corporation, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain of Paris, a leading producer of gypsum products, announces the introduction of ProRoc Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board with M2Tech technology.

ProRoc Gypsum Board is a high-strength, uniformly flat wallboard, designed for use on interior walls and ceilings in commercial, institutional, and residential applications. It is lightweight, easy to cut and install over steel or wood framing, and may be finished and painted using conventional gypsum board techniques.

CertainTeed’s new M2Tech platform gives ProRoc moisture resistance and enhanced protection against mold growth utilizing a water-resistant core and a moisture- and mold-resistant paper facing, notes the company.

For fire-rated assemblies, ProRoc Moisture and Mold Resistant Gypsum Board with M2Tech is available in Type X, which is designed for applications requiring extended fire ratings where enhanced moisture and mold resistance is preferred.

CertainTeed continues to focus on environmentally friendly products to enhance building sustainability and contribute to LEED credits in green building design projects. All of ProRoc’s face and back paper contain both pre- and post-consumer waste, with a recycled content of nearly 100 percent.
