October 20,2025 — The healthcare built environment seeks skilled facility management practitioners operating at the highest level. Such FMs may need to oversee the maintenance and repair of all facilities to ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for patients, staff and visitors.
The McMorrow Reports and FMLink team, observing the increasing demand for FMs, launched the FMLink Job Board in September 2025. Healthcare built environment professionals thinking about a new opportunity will discover a wealth of jobs, many with signing bonuses. With hundreds of positions listed and more to come, the Job Board is open to all facility and building managers and related professionals.
Healthcare facility managers and planners can register to use the site, browse the postings, upload a resume, and apply for a new opportunity such as these:
- Healthcare Facility Manager, Bowde Professional Services, Winslow, AZ
- Director of Facility Services, The Stratford Senior Living, Carmel, IN
- Senior Healthcare Architect, Cushing Terrell, Kalispell or Bozeman, MT
According to several listings on the FMLink Job Board, hospital systems’ FMs may need to:
- Manage all construction projects, from initial planning and procurement through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget;
- Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring they meet standards for quality, cost-effectiveness, and service;
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to prolong the life of facilities and equipment, ensuring all facilities meet healthcare regulations, including those specific to hospitals and emergency rooms;
- Respond promptly and effectively to any emergencies that may arise, coordinating efforts to resolve the issue and minimize disruption to services; and
- Develop and manage the facilities operations budget, making recommendations for cost savings and efficiency improvements, among other duties.
Due to its specialized area of service, many require years of experience in facility management or operations, preferably within the healthcare industry where they gained knowledge of healthcare facility regulations and standards, including those specific to hospitals and emergency rooms.
Professionals who want to improve their qualifications are earning certifications such as the Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC), BOMI’s program of Microcredentials, and IFMA’s Certified Facility Manager (CFM) and Facility Management Professional (FMP) to build skills.
Further, the Association for Medical Facility Professionals (AMFP) provides enormous networking opportunities to connect with other healthcare professionals and to learn about employment opportunities at the chapter or national level meetings, and many AMFP members will gather during the Healthcare Design Conference + Expo in Kansas City.
Outside of those in-person opportunities, we encourage healthcare professionals to visit the FMLink Job Board and search for positions using “healthcare facility management,” “hospital facility manager,” “medical facility manager” to seek positions.
