Chemical Safety Board releases reactive hazards management report

March 17, 2003—The U.S. Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board has released a report on reactive hazards, Hazard Investigation: Improving Reactive Hazards Management.

The report focuses on four key issues: regulatory coverage, the NFPA hazard rating system, management system guidance and industry initiatives. It also discusses common reactive hazards and details their causes and impacts. The publication concludes with recommendations to OSHA, EPA and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, as well as four trade unions and seven trade associations (including AIHA).
