August 16, 2004—Citadel Security Software Inc., a provider in full life cycle vulnerability management and policy enforcement solutions through its automated vulnerability remediation (AVR) technology, recently announced that it received a record commercial order of $1.7 million for Hercules. The order for software and customer support services is the result of a contract signed by a leading global communications provider.
“This order signifies a growing trend by corporations recognizing the need to implement a full life cycle vulnerability management program accompanied by best-practices for complying with security policies and mandates,” said Steven B. Solomon, CEO of Citadel. “Hercules is a leading vulnerability remediation system and we expect to see continued strong adoption across all markets by providing the most comprehensive full life cycle vulnerability management solution available today.”
Hercules was chosen based on its industry-leading vulnerability management platform and ability to replace multiple point tools with one enterprise-class solution. The solution will address the need for process improvement in resolution of vulnerabilities including software defects, unsecured accounts, unnecessary services, misconfigurations and backdoors. The Hercules technology will be deployed across multiple platforms including Windows and UNIX on a global basis.
