September 11, 2006—The Clean Fleet Guide, an online site created by the US Department of Energy, was developed to assist fleet operators in choosing “green” vehicles and fuels.
Supported by Clean Cities, a network of volunteer coalitions that supports local decisions to adopt practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum consumption, this site offers specs on available alternative fuel and advanced technology vehicles, tools to perform cost analyses based on specific locations, and information on other technologies that can help improve fuel economy. In addition, users will find “clean fleet” strategies they can use to build their own green fleet.
The site includes links to information under the following topics: Vehicles and Equipment, Costs and Incentives, Fueling and Infrastructure, and Fleet Evaluation Tools.
