A number of events took place in Washington, DC, in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Most notably was a White House event in July attended by political notables. President Clinton stated that the ADA “has changed America in ways we have. . .forgotten to be conscious of: curb cuts, Braille signs, closed captioning.” He added that “these things are part of everyday life now,” and praised ADA for dropping a lot of those invisible barriers to progress.”
