Coactive Networks launches Web-based energy management suite

Coactive Networks, a provider of residential gateways for connecting the Internet to devices in businesses and homes, recently introduced the Coactive Energy Bundle 1.0, a suite of energy management services that connects energy meters, thermostats, light switches, and major electrical appliances to the Internet, allowing for remote monitoring and access.

According to the company, the bundle uses existing electrical wiring and a connection to the Internet to establish communications, configure services, and keep up-to-date with software and service upgrades. Utility service providers will have direct Internet access to key energy-using devices, while consumers can receive alerts and manage tasks remotely, such as turning on lights or adjusting the thermostat, from any Web browser or Web-enabled wireless phone.

Coactive Networks says the bundle can reduce commercial and residential utility bills by as much as 20 percent. For more information, contact Coactive Networks.
