CompuDyne introduces integrated security system for airports

December 7, 2001—CompuDyne Corp., a provider of security products for the US Air Force, the White House, and US embassies worldwide, has introduced an integrated package of proprietary and outsourced products and services to better protect airport perimeters.

The integrated system incorporates:

  • Video badging and access control, which assure the proper identification of airport personnel across multiple facilities/locations and block access, on a selective basis, to secure areas. They also maintain detailed records of movement through secured areas.
  • Bullet, blast, and attack resistant products, which ensure that access to secure areas is not breeched.
  • Fiber-optic based perimeter sensors that are mounted on existing fences or walls, or buried underground, and which do not emit unwanted signals that might interfere with aircraft transmissions, as traditional copper-based security systems might.
  • A uniquely configured shoreline protection system that alerts airports with water boundaries to approaching boats and other shoreline intruders.
  • Emergency services (security, fire, ambulance) that immediately respond to emergencies or alarms throughout the facility and to direct critical resources.
  • Full system integration, including the utilization of state-of-the-art touch screen control panels and independent operating survivability for each access point in the event of an attack.
  • Secure installation (CompuDyne, with its fifty years of service to highly secure government and military agencies and services through its Federal Systems division has many employees with the nation’s top civilian security clearances).
