August 16, 2006—CompuDyne Corporation recently received contracts worth $5 million for security-related aspects of new corrections projects, the company has announced.
CompuDyne, an industry leader in sophisticated security products, integration, and technology for the public security markets, says that the awards reflect increasing activity in the detention sector.
The company’s Institutional Security Systems (ISS) business received an award in August for $3.3 million in products and services for the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center in Virginia. The ISS effort includes security doors, frames, pneumatic locking hardware devices, and electronic security systems.
ISS was also awarded a $1.7 million contract in July for a Youth Detention Center in Concord, North Carolina. The contract covers detention security products as well as electronic security systems.
