March 17, 2003—The Conference Boards Corporate Preparedness, Security, and Response Network, in cooperation with the International Security Management Association, is urging companies to centralize their corporate security strategy to meet changing security needs. Current corporate risk issues, says the organization, include war threats, terrorist attacks, computer security and perimeter safety measures, asset protection, crisis prevention, business continuity and risk management.
The Network is designed to provide professional corporate security advice and expertise, best practices knowledge, and broad-based information through hands-on participation in events. It was designed as an initiative to help companies confront and deal with the increased influx of security information and new requirements. The network is directed and supported by professionals with experience in international security, foreign affairs, and economic development.
Participating organizations include: Unilever, AT&T, Sunoco, Stora Enso, Anthem, Inc., Lincoln Financial, and Capital One. Members are professional managers and executives who have responsibility for a wide range of security concerns in their organizations.
This initiative of The Conference Board seeks to help companies address these critical issues:
- How can you successfully integrate the preparedness and security message and thinking throughout your entire organization?
- Once events are over and momentary crises have passed, where can you go to maintain access to a practical, high utility information network of peers and experts that would be available to you all the time and without leaving the office?
- How can you develop the relationships that will save your executives time and your company’s money, while providing managers with leadership growth opportunities they would be hard pressed to arrange on their own?
