The 106th Congress’s last major tax effort was achievement of tax incentive. It was agreed to after a last-minute House and Senate tax conference on October 25, 2000—a package that should amount to a $245 billion tax cut. Commenting on the achievement, BOMA International thanks the initiative of Senator Spencer Abraham (R-MI) for his active support of proposals the organization sought. The community renewal portion of the bill would eliminate the current targeting restriction and allow the expensing of any brownfields site’s clean-up cost in the year in which it is incurred.
