Consensus emerges in last of three DOL ergonomic forums

August 13, 2001—Ergonomics Today contains a report on the third and last public forum on ergonomics organized by the Department of Labor (DOL) to discuss the merits of having a federal standard. According to the report, there were five speakers representing Labor, four speakers chosen by Industry, thirteen speakers representing various large organizations, and seven people whose names were drawn at random. Although opposing views were presented by Labor and Management, both sides agreed that they could support California’s Ergonomics regulation.
