“Construction firm hit with huge $348,600 penalities by OSHA for unsafe “

A construction company from Portsmouth, Ohio, has been issued a citation with proposed penalties totaling $348,600 by Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). OSHA claims that the construction company exposed employees to hazardous trenching conditions that resulted in serious injuries to workers. OSHA was asked to conduct a safety performance by Portsmouth city officials, after failing to get Boone Coleman Construction to comply with safe trenching and excavation practices even following an earlier cave-in.
