February 3, 2003—Construction Navigator Inc., has launched a Web portal that helps builders find best-in-class contractors, subcontractors, and vendors. In addition, it links banks, lenders, insurers, and government agencies with no finder fees.
The portal also is a one-stop shopping center via electronic catalogs to purchase all supplies from construction vendors. Vendors simply upload their inventory database to the portal for search and purchase by contractors and individuals. The site features a virtual shopping cart, 128-bit encryption, and secure socket layer (SSL) transactions for all transactions.
An annual membership to the site costs $350 and does not charge finder’s fees. Price includes development of Web presence, use of tools, and services. The portal service will be free to the first one hundred members who sign up.
