September 2, 2002—Cooper Lighting has introduced the new Sure-Lites CX LED Die-Cast Aluminum Exit Series. According to the company, the affordable, “Energy-Star” listed series combines the strength and durability of die-casting, with bright even illumination combined with benefits of self-diagnostic technology.
The CX series feature energy-efficient LED technology and unlike other industry units that have a pronounced dot effect from protruding diodes, offers uniform illumination and brightness. The series also boast the use of only 4 green LEDs in the CX7170GSD unit, the fewest LED usage in the lighting industry today.
The exits feature the Sure-Lites WATCHGUARD EMS Self-Diagnostic System for convenience. The system will automatically perform all tests required by UL924 and NFPA 101, which consist of a 30-second test at least once every 30 days. The self0diagnostic system indicates the status of the exit at all times using the LED indicator near the test switch on the side of the unit. A 90-minute battery power (emergency mode) simulation test will also occur randomly once every six months.
