April 25, 2003—In response to growing member and sponsor concerns over SARS and in light of the Center for Disease Control’s issuance of an Interim Travel Alert for Toronto, CoreNet Global has decided not to hold the Toronto Global Summit set for May 3 – 7.
Said Peggy Binzel, president and CEO of CoreNet Global, “Our first and foremost concern was for the health and safety of our members. Also, we did not want to settle for delivering anything less than the highest quality of events. As an organization, we have a collective trust and a responsibility that recognizes both the risk now associated with holding the event and the probable diminution of the quality of the event.”
