CPC Transformers Receive Energy Star Certification

Controlled Power Co. received Energy Star certification by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its Ultra-K shielded K-rated isolation transformer. Controlled Power, of Troy, Michigan, manufactures electrical power conditioning and protection products. K-rated isolation transformers are exempt from NEMA TP-1 standards, and the company’s “Ultra-K” meets and exceeds these standards. The company claims that “Ultra-K” isolation transformers are the only K-rated transformers on the market that not eliminate the effects of harmonic heating but also meet EPA’s high efficiency standards. Energy Star Program promotes the manufacture and use of cost-effective, energy-efficiency isolation transformers, which reduce combustion-related pollution and greenhouse emissions.
