November 3, 2004—Prenova announced that it has been selected by Crate and Barrel to help the nationwide specialty retailer manage its energy procurement activities and reduce supply costs. Prenova is a national, independent provider of energy process management solutions that enable organizations to pay less for energy, use less energy and reliably predict and direct their future energy strategies.
Crate and Barrel will rely on Prenova for supply-side assistance, including competitive solicitation for energy supply.

Crate and Barrel cites energy usage as one of its biggest facility operational costs, due to its dependence on climate control, lighting and other elements to create the overall shopping experience in its 115 stores—a number that it plans to reduce through its partnership with Prenova.
On average, organizations that rely on Prenova for supply-side management achieve savings of 3 to 5 percent annually on their energy purchases.
