June 20, 2008—Versatile as it is stylish, Riola, the new chair from Dauphin, is easily used as a boardroom chair, a conference chair, a guest chair or simply as a piece of art.
Designed by Martin Bellendat of Swiss-based company Zuco, a Dauphin company, Riola is a uniquely designed cantilever chair with a swivel joint allowing it to rotate on a flat cross base, says the company.
With its clever curves and distinctive shape, Riola is exceptional. From its oblique base column which drifts apart into two sections and bears the shell seat, to the armrests that connect to the frame as a direct continuation of the column, a sense of harmony is created from a single structural component.
Available with or without arms and three arm cap color options, Riola’s Rib Knit upholstery is available in five colors.
The company also introduced Conte, a new ergonomic task chair that shines with its harmonious, flowing lines and quiet elegance, creating a dynamic visual impact while built around the core benefit of perfect seating technology.

The user’s body effortlessly finds the best sitting position due to the automatic body weight adjustment feature with fine-tuning and the seat tilting mechanism. Discreetly concealed from view, the mechanism releases pressure from the muscles as a person sits, resulting in overall well-being and renewed vigour.
All materials are environmentally friendly, easy to separate and recycle and carry Dauphins full return recycling guarantee, says the company.
The seat is moulded foam that is free of CFC and the striking, easily-recyclable upholstery contains zones of varying elasticity–a patented solution for ideal back support. Available in three patterns, the Stripe Knit, Bubble Knit and Pebble Knit come in four different colors each and COL and COM upholstery is also an option.
Also available as a conference chair, Conte’s syncro mechanism and automatic body weight adjustment keeps the body in motion so symptoms of fatigue are quickly pre-empted.
Skilfully blending traditional and modern elements, Conte strikes a welcomed and stylish contrast to the standard task chair, offering superb design and comfort down to the last details.
Dauphin is one of the world’s leading office seating manufacturers. For more on the company, see its Web site.
