Daylites natural lighting solution saves electricity during daylight hours

July 16, 2001—Daylite Company recently added the collimatted Skylite SLX series to its line of lighting products. The company says this natural lighting fixture has proven to eliminate up to 90 percent of electrical lighting needs during daylight hours.

These energy-efficient hybrid skylights are now being used in numerous large commercial facilities where energy supplies have become a crucial factor for staying in business. Skylite has a 100-percent colar rendering index and produces as much as ten times more light than traditional skylights without any appreciable heat gain or loss.

The new generation of light tubes and light wells are designed for both new and existing buildings. This system of natural light can be combined with electrical lighting for optimal light requirements. The tubes and wells provide insulation from the outside environment, and diffuse the light for an evenly balanced light source.

The units can be installed in open frame ceilings (typically warehouses) or drop ceilings (typically office and retail facilities), and pitched roof or flat roofed configurations.

Detailed specifications and prices of the products are available by calling 805/642-6557, 800/932-6557, or visiting the company’s Web site.
