December 31, 2004—A new module by Dean Evans & Associates allows its Event Management System (EMS) line of room and resource scheduling products to communicate with the RoomWizard scheduling system from PolyVision, a Steelcase company. The integration will help companies improve communication and maximize room use by allowing events scheduled either in EMS or a RoomWizard to be displayed on the wall-mounted RoomWizard units outside meeting or conference rooms.
RoomWizard by PolyVision makes room status information immediately available, says Dean Evans, president and CEO of Dean Evans & Associates. He further explains, “With the trend in data management being toward a combination of centralized and distributed control, the pairing of our two products makes perfect sense and will provide users with the best of both worlds.”
EMS systems are used to manage the many tasks required to host meetings and events, including the recording of a customer’s initial inquiry and contact information, the booking of space, resources and services, the posting of event information to the Internet, and the generation and tracking of invoices. The flexibility of the many versions of EMS allows it to be used in virtually any type of facility, large or small.
