January 4, 2008—Business advisory firm Deloitte & Touche has released “The European Powers of Construction 2007,” its annual report on construction company performance. The study ranks the largest 100 European builders by revenue, and examines the hurdles construction companies face in an increasingly challenging building environment.
As with last year’s survey, France leads the list with four of the top ten construction companies, and UK firms dominate the top 100 overall, accounting for 33 of the top 100 places. Eighty-three companies reported growth in construction revenue, with Spain’s Ferrovial Group reporting the largest relative increase at €4.0bn. The average net income in 2006 was 5.1%, up from 3.7% in 2005.
