Desktop Innovations, Inc., has released CMMS, Version 2.7, the latest version of the company’s popular MainBoss CMMS maintenance software package. MainBoss CMMS 2.7 contains numerous enhancements over previous releases of the software. In particular, the user interface has been redesigned and expanded, so that maintenance departments have the option of recording more detailed information about their operations.
The new MainBoss CMMS offers a comprehensive reporting tool that provides complete maintenance, equipment and inventory reports. New features allow users to cross-tabulate data and ranges of values to meet their specific requirements. Users can ask MainBoss CMMS for a report that includes greater levels of detail such as source of costs and work descriptions or can request summary information suitable for management reporting. Rather than swamping the user with confusing, fixed format reports, MainBoss CMMS combines flexible sorting and detail selection with a manageable number of standard reports.
Among special features are browsers to find, sort and preview information; uniform buttons and toolbars to decrease learning time; tab controls to avoid scrolling multiple screens for information; online documentation facilities to quickly find answers to questions.
Additionally, Desktop Innovations will make documentation available for all the database files used by MainBoss CMMS 2.7. This means that sophisticated users with database programs like Microsoft Access will be able to read the database files and extract useful information.
