DIRTTs Agile Architectural Solutions win attention and praise at NeoCon

June 24, 2005—The DIRTT showroom at NeoCon in Chicago drew people whose only experience with the company name had been in gardening situations.

As this was the first time the new company showed its Agile Architectural Solutions to the world, it was satisfying for DIRTT officials to hear the opinions of design professionals. This is the best thing Ive seen at the show, said one accidental visitor who ended up in the DIRTT showroom. Youve made me very happy, said an architect who came in expecting little or nothing new in modular interior design.

What takes modular interior construction to the next level is the ability to, not only create aesthetically powerful solutions using parametric engineering, said DIRTT founder Mogens Smed. But design professionals are now able to explore and compare these solutions while getting automatic specifications and pricing.

Smed is speaking of ICE, a graphical, expert software created by DIRTTs programmers. ICE allows designers to spend more time creating unique solutions for their clients and less time getting fully acquainted with every detail of a manufacturers catalogue.

The Agile Architectural Solutions made by DIRTT are parametric by nature. Movable walls can be designed larger or smaller, in a different shape or with different finishes. DIRTT Interior Curtain Walls take existing walls, with limited aesthetic and functional capabilities, and turns them into integrated working walls that bring the corporate culture to every corner of a clients real estate. The DIRTT Stick-built Wall allows for seamless glass in angles, curves and long horizontal vistas—all on a manufacturers lead-time.

When the DIRTT furniture systems are introduced this fall, they too will be parametric by nature and speak the same universal language as the walls, the company says.

DIRTT Environmental Solutions manufactures pre-engineered and pre-manufactured Agile Architectural Solutions and expert, object oriented software. DIRTT stands for Doing It Right This Time. For more information, visit the Web site.
