Domco Tarkett’s VCT flooring achieves GREENGUARD certification

September 24, 2003—The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has awarded GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certification to Domco Tarkett for their vinyl composition tile flooring. Domco Tarkett’s flooring was tested under the GREENGUARD Certification Program’s test protocols for low emitting indoor materials, and the products will be tested quarterly and re-certified annually to ensure continued compliance with the GREENGUARD Standards. Domco Tarkett’s flooring joins the wide variety of certified products, from paint to furniture and insulation, in the GREENGUARD Online Product Guide that helps specifiers around the world find low emitting interior materials.

GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified(R) products are tested to stringent emission levels under realistic building conditions. The GREENGUARD Standards are based on indoor emission requirements used by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the State of Washington, and Germany’s Blue Angel Program.

Respiratory irritation and asthma have been related to emissions from common indoor materials such as furniture, flooring, paint, adhesives, cleaning materials, and many others. Fortunately, GREENGUARD Certified low-emitting products are proven to have minimal impact on indoor environments. Using low-emitting materials is vital in creating spaces that foster the well-being and quality of life of building occupants. For more information, visit Domco Tarkett or call 800/USS-TILE.
