March 24, 2003—Door Guard has introduced “Protect-A-Lift,” new concept in the protection of elevator doors, furniture and equipment.
Protect-A-Lift is made of a foamed co-polymer, designed to provide a balance of stiffness and shock absorption. The device, weighing 15 pounds, incorporates a locking system that enables the user to install Protect-A-Lift in less than 5 seconds.
Ed Malacki, Vice President of Operations, said, “We designed the L-shaped door panels to be used without the need for straps, suction cups or other cumbersome equipment so it could be installed, carried and stored conveniently. Our goal was to provide a product that could be quickly put into place by any staff member when it appeared damage to a doorframe was likely. They maintain a look of professionalism even during moving operations,” said Malacki.
Facility Managers have already found success with Protect-A-Lift. “We used Protect-A-Lifts to move a new tenant into our brand-new, award-winning Class A building. They reduced damage costs to our building and furniture by more than $10,000 compared to a similar move two years ago,” said Ann Petros, RPA, Asset Manager, DiCicco Development.
