DynaMotive Technologies Corporation recently opened a facility to produce liquid fuel from wood waste such as bark, sawdust, and sugar cane bagasse. Initial production runs, completed in mid-February, were successful. The plant produces 10 tons of the fuel, called BioOil, per day. The fuel is intended to be used for power generation in gas turbines, diesel engines, and boilers. It is produced by heating the wood waste in the absence of oxygen. BioOil burns clean with low emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxides. For more information, contact DynaMotive.
