Dynasound’s CAAD software cops award for design excellence

August 27, 2001—A Design Journal Award for Design Excellence was awarded to Dynasound for its CAAD (Computer Aided Acoustical Design) Software. The award-winning software was designed to alleviate the growing challenge of acoustical privacy in both open and closed offices. The windows-based software program predicts workstation-to-workstation speech privacy. Calculations are made for the combined effect of ceiling, furniture panel, wall, and floor acoustical paths. Calculations are then referenced to the background sound to predict speech privacy. The program defaults to a value-engineering module that identifies over-and-under-performing components so that acoustical performance can be balanced to maximize results and cost effectiveness. CAAD also generates a sound-masking spectrum, in 1/3-octave bands, to compliment site-specific ceiling systems and workstation performance. For more information contact Dynasound.
