Office Interiors Online, OIOL, has launched an online accommodation platform with the aim to bring the property and interiors industries together, providing facilities management space analysis, space planning, building search, product procurement and project management.

The new service aims to create a similar collaboration to Project Octane, (see News story), providing a vehicle through which the property industry can generate new revenue streams.

David Steventon, head of e-commerce at property services company DTZ which has used the service, commented: “The attraction of OIOL is that it combines new technology with traditional processes and gives DTZ a range of value added services that can be incorporated into our own range of services. It also provides us with a vehicle to offer our clients better pricing structures throughout the accommodation cycle from development to facility management.”

Steve Hutton from OIOL said: “The interiors industry needs to offer fast and effective solutions that deliver a better quality of service to clients. There is clearly a market for such solutions in a climate where investors are willing to pay 1.7bn pounds for a serviced office company that cant predict when it will make a profit.”
