May 2, 2008—Eagle Roofing Products, a division of Burlingame Industries, has announced its Cool Roof Tile line has earned Energy Star approval.
Eagle’s Cool Roof Tile line was selected based on the product’s ability to reflect sunlight and therefore heat from the roof, helping to prevent heat transfer into the building, resulting in up to a 30 percent savings in energy bills, according to the company.
The Cool Roof Tile’s ability to reflect sunlight and heat away from the roof surface makes the product eligible for Energy Star approval, a series of energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and US Department of Energy.
Eagle’s Cool Roof Tile offering is part of the company’s “Eagle Green” initiative, which includes the Eagle Solar Roof, Energy Saving Roof and an environmentally friendly manufacturing process.
